October 2025 Market Snapshot
October in Review

U.S. stocks extended their winning streak in October, with the S&P 500 climbing roughly 2.34 % — marking the longest successful run in years. Optimism was driven by strong tech earnings, massive investment in AI infrastructure, and hopes for further rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Markets did face turbulence mid-month when renewed U.S.–China trade and tariffs fears spurred a brief sell-off. However, those concerns eased as the month came to a close when a trade truce between the world’s two largest economies started to materialized.

Looking Forward
Markets will be watching several key developments in November. First, inflation and interest-rate signals remain critical. With signs that inflation may be easing and long-term bond yields cooling, there’s growing hope that the Federal Reserve might begin easing its monetary stance next year—setting the stage for equities. At the same time, consumer spending and corporate earnings must hold up to justify valuations, especially in sectors like technology and discretionary that seem poised for the next leg up. Geopolitical and trade-policy risks — particularly between the U.S. and China and amid supply-chain reallocation — remain potent wild cards. Finally, November is historically strong for U.S. equities: We will see if that history provides support up as the month unfolds.

On a Personal Note

We recently received this photo from a group of clients on a glacier in Alaska, all wearing our RMG hats. They had been saving and investing for this once in a lifetime trip for several years. We were so happy they were able to experience the beauty of the region and proud that we played a small part in making this dream trip a reality. Next time we hope they will take us with!
